School board elections should be about students, not politics. I proudly support public education, believe every student matters, and value respectful communication and teamwork to bring our community together.
I am running for the Wilson County School Board, Zone 2 because I believe our schools should reflect the best of what Wilson County can offer: Sustainable growth and smart infrastructure, attracting and retaining great teachers and support staff, and equitable opportunity for EVERY student.
Sustainable Growth & Smart Infrastructure.
As Wilson County Schools nears 21,000 students, proactive planning matters more than ever. Building schools and updating facilities before overcrowding impacts teachers and students will help ensure continued success. We are on the right path, and I hope to play a role in that progress moving forward.
Attracting and Retaining Great Teachers and Support Staff.
High-quality educators and support staff are the backbone of student success. I strongly support continuing and expanding beginning-teacher support programs, competitive benefits, and meaningful retention incentives. Our veteran teachers, whose experience and commitment help define the excellence of Wilson County Schools, must also be valued and supported. Wilson County Schools is also fortunate to have some of the best support staff anywhere. These non-teaching professionals are essential to daily operations and to maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. From administrative assistants, custodians, and bus drivers to nurses, counselors, psychologists, librarians, IT technicians, and paraprofessionals, they work tirelessly behind the scenes to meet students’ physical, emotional, and logistical needs—allowing teachers to focus on instruction. Their dedication is vital to the success of our schools, and they deserve to be recognized, heard, and supported.
Equity, Accountability & Community Engagement.
EVERY student deserves access to strong academics, support services, and extracurricular opportunities regardless of zip code. I will advocate for equitable resource allocation, clear communication with all community stakeholders, and policies shaped by community input, including educators, students, and parents.
If elected to represent Zone 2, I commit to listening closely to ALL community stakeholders, including educators, students, and parents. I commit to making decisions that reflect the values and needs of Zone 2, and all of Wilson County. I believe working together as a community, we can continue to build a strong school system where EVERY student has the opportunity to succeed, now and in the future.
